A record-breaking crowd of over 600 healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, healthcare executives, and PDM members participated at PDM MedExpo 2003, September 26-28 in Cleveland, Ohio.
MedExpo 2003 is the third annual medical convention and exposition designed by PDM to create a forum for healthcare professionals and manufacturers to network, bring national recognition to Ohio’s healthcare community, and increase manufacturer investment in Ohio’s healthcare industry. Events included an Exhibitor Showcase, continuing education courses, Gala Banquet with live Cirque du Soleil style show, and numerous networking functions
This event was “Cleveland’s own Medical Convention & Exposition,” a much-needed service to Greater Cleveland’s healthcare industry. MedExpo 2003 focused national attention on Cleveland’s emerging healthcare and biotechnology businesses. Over seventy pharmaceutical, medical surgical supply, and ancillary product manufacturers exhibited at MedExpo, allowing them to make contacts and see new business potential among attendees from Cleveland’s healthcare facilities.
Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell inaugurated MedExpo 2003 during the Opening General Session on September 27; Mayor Campbell’s remarks focused on the future direction, growth, and emerging national presence of Northeast Ohio’s healthcare facilities and manufacturing and research companies. Keynote speakers also included Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell and Dr. Milap Nahata, Chairman of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at The Ohio State University.
According to Mr. Ash Chawla, MS, RPh, Founder & President of PDM Healthcare, “MedExpo attendance exceeded projections and represented all healthcare professions. This is a clear indication of that there is a growing interest and need in Cleveland for a healthcare trade show that brings together Cleveland’s diverse healthcare facilities and national manufacturers. The huge amount of attendance and vendor participation clearly demonstrates strength of Cleveland’s healthcare industry.” |
